Working in collaboration with The Gund’s education department, Assistant Professor of Neuroscience Lauren Rudolph designed a semester-long project to support student learning about the neurological mechanisms that enable us to perceive the specificities and interconnectedness of places. Titled Connect(h)ome, this project takes inspiration from the Human Connectome Project, an NIH-funded, multi-institution endeavor that mapped how regions of the human brain are connected to each other in order to better understand neural function as a whole. For Connect(h)ome, students in NEUR 212.00 developed creative projects that connect physical locations in Knox County, Ohio to their study and understanding of the nervous system. Stop by The Annex to see their completed projects, now on view!
