Nealon had been doing stand-up comedy for six years when he made his network television debut on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson in 1984.
Shortly after, Nealon became part of NBC’s Saturday Night Live. He’s best known for being one of the longest running cast members with a nine-year stint from 1986-1995. He created some of the show’s most memorable characters including his recurring role as an anchor on ‘Weekend Update,’ which made the sketch a show staple.
Playing Doug Wilson in the hit TV Series Weeds, Nealon was arguably the funniest character for seven seasons. From 2005-2012, he portrayed the debauched, crazy stoner so well that people actually believed it was a part of his personality.
