Three free Sunday afternoon concerts in the Children's Garden at the Knox County Career Center celebrate the outdoors, nature, art, science and multi generations.  Sponsored by the Ariel Foundation, these concerts feature music and a fun activity by SPI, the Science Play-Space Initiative.  Bring a chair or blanket and a picnic!

Plan for Your Stuff Program & Appraisal Fair (Wed. 29 Jun, 2016 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

We all have stuff, and some of us have lots of stuff. At some point, we (or our families) will have to deal with our stuff. This can be a big and emotionally challenging job. By planning now, you can make better decisions for you and your family.

 

“Plan for Your Stuff” presentation and appraisal fair with Andrew Richmond, President/CEO of Wipiak Consulting & Appraisals will be held on Wednesday, June 29, noon to 3:00 PM at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry Street.

 

The presentation includes: Reasons why you need to plan for your stuff and avoid costly mistakes

Helpful planning tips w/handouts

When & how to get an appraisal

Ways of selling your personal property (yard sales are so 1985)

How to prepare yourself mentally to plan or to sell

A 2-hour appraisal fair (similar to the Antiques Roadshow) will begin at 1:00 PM. The program is free and open to the public of all ages. A $5.00 donation to the Friends of the Library will be requested for each appraisal with a limit of 3 items per person. Participants will be responsible for the transportation and security of items to be appraised.
