The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress.  If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end.  But time is running out, if he doesn't learn the lesson soon he and his entire household will be doomed for eternity.

United Methodist Church Tour (Sun. 10 Jul, 2016 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

The United Methodist Churches in Knox County are hosting four Sunday afternoon tours.

July 10: Waterford UMC, Batemantown UMC, Salem UMC, Fredericktown UMC, Green Valley UMC and Berlin UMC.  

July 17: Gambier Epworth UMC, Hopewell UMC, Gay Street UMC, Mulberry Street UMC and South Vernon UMC.

August 7: Liberty Chapel UMC, Beulah UMC, Centerburg UMC, Lock UMC and Brandon UMC.

August 21: Jelloway UMC, Wesley Chapel UMC, Danville UMC, Amity UMC, Howard UMC, Ebenezer UMC and North Liberty UMC.

Quarry Chapel Event: Tavaci (Sun. 10 Jul, 2016 3:00 pm)

Lacey Blubaugh, a student at Tavaci School of Performing Arts, will be on stage. Being your family & friends to this free fun event at historic Quarry Chapel, corner of Quarry Chapel & Monroe Mills Roads outside of Gambier. Doors open at 2:30 pm & show starts at 3.  Bring a lawn chair in the event you cannot find a seat in the Chapel. Parking is available in the front & rear parking lots. You may also park head in on the grass along Monroe Mills Road. Please do not park along Quarry Chapel Road by the cemetery.

Fireflies in July (Wed. 13 Jul, 2016 8:00 pm)

Join BFEC staff for a tour of Ohio's best natural light show.  Starting at the Franklin Miller Observatory, we will walk about half a mile down to Wolf Run Creek observing and discussing one of summer's oldest and cheapest thrills and some of the other things that come to life when the sun goes down.  Sunset is at 9 pm but come early to the BFEC to enjoy s'mors and conversation.  Camp fire starts at 8 pm.

Foundation for KCH Annual Golf Classic (Fri. 15 Jul, 2016 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

This annual event takes place on the beautiful fairways and manicured greens of the Mount Vernon Country Club. Enjoy 18 holes of golf while relaxing with friends. Be sure to register early for this sellout event. Foursome cost is $500.
All proceeds benefit the Foundation for KCH's campaign to bring advanced diagnostic equipment to the Cancer Center at the hospital.

Cycle Knox Trails – Heart of Ohio Trail (Sat. 16 Jul, 2016 5:00 pm)

Join the second ride of 2016 to explore part of the Heart of Ohio Trail.  This ride will take in the cooler part of the day and start early evening.  The group will plan to ride from Mount Vernon to Mount Liberty and back (approximately 16 miles round trip).  Returning to the Depot the riders will celebrate National Ice Cream Day, one day early, with a special cool treat!  Remember to wear comfortable clothing, wear your bicycle helmet and bring a filled water bottle.
