Starting Point's WALK (Sat. 7 Oct, 2017 10:00 am - 1:00 pm)

Starting Point's WALK is a fundraising event on Saturday morning October 7th come rain or shine. Registration opens at 9:30am and begins promptly at 10:00am. The WALK is only a 2.2 mile walk so bring the whole family. (But no pets please.)

We have prizes for funds raised and there will be free food, drinks and games for all participants.

Fall Farm Event! (Sat. 7 Oct, 2017 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Spend some time with us on the farm!  Stop by to see our barn full of animals, milk Elsie the cow, take horse drawn hayrides through the woods on Saturdays and tractor driven hayrides on Sundays! Pick that special pumpkin from our pumpkin patch, walk our woods trail and let the kids enjoy the playground activities! 

Heart of Ohio Tour (Sat. 7 Oct, 2017 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

The 2017 Heart of Ohio Tour will be Saturday October 7th, and Sunday October 8th from 1 pm to 6 pm. This year the tour will embrace the whole county and will provide an Agricultural experience for all ages.

First stop is Grandpa's Tackle Box, 17811 Buena Vista Drive, Fredericktown @ 1:00pm

Tour goers can stop by Knox Lake to learn about the history of Knox Lake and fish management. Visit local farms and learn about livestock handling and management of sheep and cattle. Leran how genetics and selective breeding of beef can improve production and herd management. You can visit Butcher Maple Syrup where they will have maple products and syrup for sale while learning about maple process and production. Indian Bear Winery will also have products for sale and you will be able to learn about the process and manufacturing of wine. Visitors to The Bat Nest Park will enjoy the views of the Kokosing River flood plain and wetlands. Keep an eye to the sky for a majestic view of a bald eagle and observe the large-style bat house which can house thousands of bats.

At the end of the tour, stop at the Ariel Foundation Park for self-guided walking tours, narrated trailer rides (limited seating), a visit to the Urton Clock House Museum, and a climb to the top of Rastin Tower (tallest view in Knox County). Learn more about how the park developed and its industrial history. Plan to stay for the Back Porch Swing Band and a Community Square Dance at 7:30 p.m. No experience necessary! Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Mount Vernon High School Key Club. See you there!!

Back Porch Swing Band & Community Square Dance - AFP Free Concert Series (Sat. 7 Oct, 2017 7:30 pm)

Put on your boots and enjoy a lovely fall evening in an outdoor concert venue in Ariel-Foundation Park with the Back Porch Swing Band. A professional caller will lead event-goers through a variety of square and contra-style dances. The Back Porch Swing Band combines the talents of 5 notable musicians responsible for the tapping of thousands of feet across Ohio for the last 20 years. The band specializes in Western Swing and music from the '20's, '30's, '40's, but plays several musical styles , ranging from Appalachian tunes, Blues, Old Country & Folk, to even 50's & 60's pop. Requests from the audience are frequently honored. Dance music includes swing, two steps, waltzes, polkas, schottische, fox trot, cha cha, and square dances.

Hagan's House of Horrors (Sat. 7 Oct, 2017 8:00 pm - Sun. 8 Oct, 2017 12:00 am)

Hagan's House of Horrors is a multi-themed haunted house attraction located within the village of Bladensburg, in the southeastern part of Knox County. The  haunt is recommended for ages 16 and up with parental discretion advised for younger children. It's open every Friday and Saturday night in October beginning at 8:00 PM (ticket window opens at 7:30). Free parking is available on the haunt site and nearby in this easily walkable country village. 

Most Saturday nights at the haunt involve charitable collections of food or other items or ticket proceeds givebacks to causes in the local community.
