Knox County Barn Tour & Barn Dance (Sat. 10 Sep, 2016 11:00 am - 9:00 pm)

Begins at Kenyon Farm (20245 Zion Road, Gambier, Ohio 43022)

Free self-guided driving tour, renovated, re-purposed, working barns, and solar site.

Free barn dance 6:30pm - 9:00pm, Back Porch Swing Band, animals, mum sale, garden club sale, antique barn raising tool exhibit, children's art, professional art, bands, exhibitions, food, crafts, quilters, farm equipment, face painting, model barn raising, etc.  Go to website for route.  Any donations go to further the mission of the Knox County Landmarks Foundation to preserve the architectural and cultural heritage of Knox County.

Praisestock (Sat. 10 Sep, 2016 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

There is no entry fee for Praisestock, but attendees are asked to “bring a can, a box, or a buck” to benefit local food pantries.

Offering music styling from bluegrass to rock, Praisestock’s two-day outdoor live Christian music festival will be Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10 and 11, at Owl Creek Baptist Church, 4044 Owl Creek Church Road, Mount Vernon. Praisestock will go on, rain or shine.

The event begins Saturday, at 11 a.m. and goes until 6 p.m., as contemporary and rock groups come in and perform. Bands performing include Warship, All For One, Identity, Worship Experiment and Just in Time, the praise band from Owl Creek Baptist Church.

On Sunday, Praisestock takes place from 1-6 p.m. as bluegrass, country and gospel music groups perform. Bands performing include Chestnut Ridge SlawDog, Nancy H., Baker Brothers, Jim Hawkins and Co. and more.

In addition to worship and music, food will be available by donation.

Tents will be onsite that will provide shade, a Kids Corner will feature crafts and games, and visitors may enter a raffle to win a giveaway. Guests should bring a lawn chair or blanket in order to be comfortable.
