Howling at the Full Moon Hike

Date: Thursday, January 12, 2017 6:30 pm
Location: Wolf Run Park

Come join the Knox County Park District as we experience the magic of Wolf Run trails during a full moon.  The January full moon was known by early Native American Indian tribes as the Full Wolf Moon because this was the time of year when hungry wolf packs howled outside their camps.  We may be fortunate to hear some of Wolf Run's resident owl species, as this is their peak breeding/nesting season.  This is a great family activity to experience the fabulous out-of-doors after dark!  The hike will be a nice, leisurely paced excursion through the woods and fields, eventually making our way to the overlook "deck" to gaze upon the full moon.  Since the focus of the hike is on wildlife, please leave your four-legged freinds at home, thank you.
