Great American Campout

Date: Saturday, June 25, 2016 3:00 pm

Join the Park District as we celebrate the National Wildlife Federation’s Great American Campout.  Roundup your loved ones, your sleeping bags and your tent(s) and meet at Thayer Ridge Park from 3-6pm to set up your overnight campsite.  From 6-8pm we’ll enjoy a roaring bonfire to roast hot dogs and marshmallows.  The Park District will supply the “dogs”, buns and marshmallows. Please bring finger foods, snacks and drinks for your family and breakfast items for the next morning.  At 8pm we will enjoy storytelling and singing camp songs around the campfire.  At dark (around 9pm) we’ll finish out the evening with a night hike.  To register to take part in this activity and receive a waiver form, please email:  [email protected]   A signed waiver is required for all participants in order to take part in this event.  All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
