2016 Ariel-Foundation Park Free Summer Concert Series
As the Ariel-Foundation Park 2016 Free Summer Concert Series continues its kick-off season, the Foundation Park Conservancy is excited to welcome two well-known local bands, Kokosing River Surf Club and Red Ball Jets, Saturday, May 21, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
The Kokosing River Surf Club is an upbeat cover band from Mount Vernon that mixes a wide variety of classic rock from the 50s to the late 70s, and blends in a dose of blues and a touch of country. The "Surf Club" will keep you on your feet and rockin' the night away as they cover hits from Jerry Lewis to the Doobie Brothers, Credence Clearwater REvival to the Rolling Stones, and more.
The Mansfield, Ohio based Red Ball Jets follow at 8:00 p.m. with a high-energy show that will entertain audience members of all ages from start to finish. "The Jets" cover a mix of dance and party songs, including selections from classic rock, R&B, modern and alternative rock.
The concerts are staged in the spacious Schnormeier Event Center at Ariel-Foundation Park. Admission is free, however contributions for the Free Summer Concert Series will be accepted. Free seating is available, or you are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs. Food and beverage service, including legal alcoholic beverages, will be available in the pavilion.
