Mount Vernon Nazarene University is pleased to announce a special concert by The Collingsworth Family that will engage community worship at R.R. Hodges Chapel on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 6 p.m.   The musical ministry is presented as a MVNU Special Project from the office of Dr. Henry W. Spaulding II, PhD., president of MVNU.   “MVNU is the best kept secret of the area. This concert is a way for MVNU to heighten exposure to the general evangelical population of central Ohio,” said James Dorough, Assistant to the President for Special Projects.   The Collingsworth Family has been blessed with God-given vocal and instrumental talents and include parents, Phil and Kim, and their children, Brooklyn, Courtney, Phillip and Olivia. Collectively, their voices lift audiences in worship while individual musical talents help drive the message and praise God for his grace and mercy.   Their journey started when Phil and Kim performed together at a church camp in 1986 and has grown in their 33 years of ministry. In 2000, the couple turned their emphasis to recording professionally and launched a new career path and rapidly expanded their ministry. They credit their success to “cutting-edge arranging, musical excellence, and a proper balance of spiritual emphasis.”   The family has issued over 25 CDs including “MERCY & LOVE.” This latest collection incorporates the best musicians, producers and songwriters including the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, and Bill and Gloria Gaither.   Tickets are available online now for $33 each. A VIP upgrade is available for an additional charge. Family packages and group rates are also available. At the door, tickets will be $37. Visit https://www.itickets.com/events/412480 to purchase tickets for this exciting stop on the Mercy and Love Tour.   R.R. Hodges Chapel is located on the beautiful MVNU campus at 800 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.    Mount Vernon Nazarene University is a private, four-year, intentionally Christian teaching university for traditional age students, graduate students, and working adults.
