This small mixed hardwood forest is dominated by exceptionally large sugar maple, black oak, red oak, shagbark hickory, and black walnut trees. Several large specimens of tulip tree, black gum, white oak, white ash, and wild black cherry are also present. Heavy grazing in the past has unfortunately reduced the abundance and diversity of spring wildflowers. Knox Woods is located within Wolf Run Regional Park, one mile east of Mount Vernon on Yauger Road.
